J. Michavila

Joaquín Michavila Asensi, Ximo (Alcora, 1926-Albalat de Taronchers, August 21, 2016) 1 was a Spanish painter of pictorial abstraction.

He was born in Alcora (Castellón) and his family moved to Valencia in 1932, where he lived until 1966. He studied Teaching and Fine Arts at the Escuela Superior de San Carlos de Valencia. He has been an academic at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Carlos since 1975, of which he was elected president on February 14, 2006.3 Michavila also began a new stage with his latest production: the series of acrylics, with the generic title Contrapunto, an eminently musical term. And from there springs a series, of many and varied musical pieces by avant-garde authors such as Schönberg, Luis de Pablo or Paco Llácer.
