Antoni Guansè

Antoni Guansé y Brea (Tortosa, Baix Ebre, January 1, 1926-Paris, November 22, 2008), was a Catalan painter.

Nephew of Domènec Guansé and nephew of Reynaldo Brea, his family moved to Barcelona, where he attended high school. From 1948 to 1951, he was part of the group of the «New Art Experimental Cycles», with Ángel Marsà, Tàpies, Guinovart and Subirà-Puig; he frequents the Maillol Circle of the French Institute of Barcelona and makes a stay in Ibiza. [1] He published some illustrations in a story by Kafka in the Catalan magazine Aplec (1952). On January 26, 1953 he went to Paris, with a scholarship granted by the French State, where since 1954 he settled permanently, developing his artistic career.
